PictureKasi Senghor likes to read and write poetry. He is greatly influenced by Trini Calypsonians and Poets for their good example.
He knows there's no future in a cup of tea
Disappointment stirs in his shaking hand
Where does love live or is it dead already
He sits, gets up and does not understand

Disappointment stirs in his shaking hand
There's a past in the tea-bag waiting to burst
He sits, gets up and does not understand
Why such sweet desires he should not thirst

There's a past in the tea-bag waiting to burst
The heat that surrounds it draws out memories
Why such sweet desires he should not thirst
When sugar in hot water becomes one by degrees

The heat that surrounds it draws out memories
Tea spills, cup falls, he's left alone to see
When sugar in hot water becomes one by degrees
The sweetness of delusion is the heat of misery

Tea spills, cup falls, he's left alone to see
Where does love live or is it dead already
The sweetness of delusion is the heat of misery
He knows there's no future in a cup of tea

A beautiful read Kasi. Love this poem. Skilfully crafted, emotionally succinct, fabulous symbolic imagery and a story written in a few words.
